Gone are the days where the laser printer was the domain of the business only, whilst the rest of us had to settle for dot matrix or more recently, an ink jet.
Lasers have plummeted in price in recent years and are now the choice of many home users. Cheaper and faster than inkjets to run, due to the large number of pages per cartridge, they could be the way to go.
Here’s what to look for:
- first, find out the size. They tend to be bigger than inkjets, so check the dimensions for one that’ll fit in your office space
- check out pages per minute that you can print: quicker the better
- check out average number of pages per cartridge: more the better!
- check the resolution: the higher the dpi the better; don’t get too hung up on it: the resolution from any laser should be enough for the home user
